Norwegian Championships trail ultra, Meråker

A week later I'm still wiping mud out of my ears and pus from the graze.

Anne Mjelva with a medal in the finish area at the Norwegian Championships in trail ultra.
The finish area at Teveltunet · Meråker Mountain Challenge

Hard day in soggy bogs, lots of mud and slippery rock slabs. I soon felt this was going to be a longer outing than I had pictured, and I probably lost quite a bit of time on a poor choice of shoes.

All the involuntary falls in the first part of the race quickly turned into voluntary sliding on my backside. At least I got good use out of the extra gels I had stuffed into my vest before the start.

Lovely day in the mountains with the weather on our side, and loads of great people on and off the course! The organisers offered hospitality at Teveltunet, good service and a great atmosphere throughout the whole weekend, both on and off the course. Thank you so much!

It was absolutely lovely to have 25 hours of housewife holiday after 5.5 weeks on holiday with 3 children!
